About Us

Welcome to Moose Resort — a small, locally owned waterfront resort located along beautiful Big Bay de Noc in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Originally built in 1951, Moose Resort has welcomed generations of travelers looking to experience the quiet beauty, fresh air, and slower pace that make the Upper Peninsula so special. Over the years the property has continued to grow and improve while still holding onto its classic U.P. charm and relaxed lakeside atmosphere.

Our resort offers panoramic views of Big Bay de Noc, 300 feet of sandy beachfront, and comfortable accommodations designed for guests looking to relax, reconnect, and enjoy everything the area has to offer. Whether you're here for fishing, boating, beach days, scenic drives, snowmobiling, or simply watching the sunset over the water, we hope Moose Resort feels like your home away from home.

As a small family-owned resort, we truly appreciate every guest who chooses to stay with us. We take pride in creating a welcoming, clean, and comfortable place where families, couples, outdoor enthusiasts, and longtime U.P. visitors can make lasting memories.

One of our favorite things about this area is the sense of community. From local restaurants and breweries to small-town events and friendly conversations along the shoreline, the Upper Peninsula has a way of making people feel welcome from the moment they arrive.

As owners of Moose Resort since 2022, we are proud not only to care for the property, but also to be active members of the local community. Being involved in the area and working within our local schools has given us a deep appreciation for the people, families, and small-town spirit that make the U.P. such a special place.

We love sharing that same welcoming atmosphere with our guests and hope everyone who stays at Moose Resort feels right at home from the moment they arrive. ❤️

About Our Historic Resort

Moose Resort was originally built in 1951 as a log structure and has seen many thoughtful renovations and improvements over the years. Additional insulation and remodeling have greatly improved comfort and reduced room-to-room noise.

Most room walls are approximately 8 inches thick or more, creating a surprisingly quiet and comfortable atmosphere for a classic roadside resort.

While highway sounds are softened considerably, guests may occasionally hear passing trucks or motorcycles due to the property's proximity to the road. Overall, guests are often pleasantly surprised by how peaceful the rooms remain — especially considering every room enjoys beautiful panoramic views of Big Bay de Noc.
